Grieving Louis Tomlinson splits from girlfriend Danielle just weeks after his mum's tragic passing

I AM very sad to reveal that grieving LOUIS TOMLINSON has split from his girlfriend DANIELLE CAMPBELL.

The break-up comes at a difficult time for the singer following the tragic death of his mum Johannah from cancer in December.

But I’m told there is no bad blood between the couple, who have agreed to remain friends.

A source said: “Louis and Danielle have made the decision to split up but they are still going to be mates.

“They’re still talking to each other and there is no bad feeling whatsoever.

RELATED STORIES

“It’s really sad because Danielle has been there for Louis through this horrible time.

“She has stood by him, remained loyal and continued to be a great support, which is exactly what he needs.

“Sometimes these things just don’t work out and for Louis and Danielle this was the best way forward.”

The pair started dating in November 2015 while Louis’s ex, Briana Jungwirth, was pregnant with his first child, Freddie, who is now one.

But he and Danielle have not been seen together since December, when they celebrated Louis’s emotional X Factor tribute performance to his mum.

In fact, the most recent sign of affection between the couple came on Christmas Eve — also Louis’s 25th birthday — when Danielle posted an old snap of her kissing the singer alongside the caption: “Happy birthday my love <3”.

Louis is currently in America promoting his debut solo single Just Hold On with STEVE AOKI and he will be glad to have work to take his mind off recent events.

When you go through a massive trauma like losing a family member it does make you think about your life, which may explain why the pair decided to call it a day.

EVERYTHING that LITTLE MIX touch turns to gold at the moment.

BIZ METER: WEEKEND

RELEASE

I’VE raved about tear-jerker Lion, starring Bafta-nominated Brit DEV PATEL, and today film fans can see why as it hits cinemas. The Oscar contender, also starring NICOLE KIDMAN, tells the real-life story of Saroo Brierley, who was adopted in India and taken to Australia, as he sets out to find the family he lost at the age of five. Be sure to pack the tissues.

PREMIERE

T2  is heading to its home turf in Edinburgh as the city hosts the UK premiere  on Sunday. The film promises as much sex, drugs and violence from EWAN McGREGOR, JONNY LEE MILLER, ROBERT CARLYLE and EWEN BREMNER, above, as the original Trainspotting. The stars will walk the red carpet 20 years after they first shocked in their gritty roles.

TELLY

BBC thriller Apple Tree Yard’s X-rated content starts just seven minutes after the watershed this Sunday. More than five minutes of explicit scenes feature in the first episode, adapted from LOUISE DOUGHTY’s best-selling novel. In the four-part series  a scientist, played by EMILY WATSON, has a reckless affair with a stranger played by BEN CHAPLIN.

AWARDS

AWARDS season is in full flow  with the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards at The May Fair hotel on Sunday. Bucking the La La Land trend, it’s Moonlight and Love & Friendship that lead the nominations here with seven each, including Film Of The Year, as voted for by more than 160 critics from the movie world.

Monkey business

GET ready for serious monkey business as  have exploded back on to the scene on the eve of DONALD TRUMP’s inauguration.

Yesterday  the cartoon band led by DAMON ALBARN broke six years of silence by dropping politically charged new song Hallelujah Money, featuring BENJAMIN CLEMENTINE.

The video sees the  prize-winning poet standing  in the lift at Trump Tower singing grim lyrics that touch on power, big business and humanity. Can’t wait.
